Marking the 50th anniversary of the arrival in England of the US 8th Air Force, this study pays tribute to the courage of the B-24 Liberator and B-17 Flying Fortress crews who provided the daylight striking arm of the Allied « round the clock » bombing offensive over Germany. The author interviewed hundreds of survivors, from air and ground crews, for their recollections of those harrowing war years and the book includes contributions from General Curtis E. LeMay, Paul Tibbets and Colonel Myron M. Keilman.
